Dinner is late and nobody apologises for it. Ten in the evening is normal and old-town kitchens are still working well past it. Inside the walls, La Brasa, S'Escalinata, Re.Art and La Oliva are the standing choices, and the narrow streets behind the port fill with tables from about nine.

On the marina side, Lío, Cipriani Downtown and Heart are the dressed-up version. Drinks happen on the terraces above the harbour first; after midnight it is Pacha or Lío, neither of which fills before one and both of which run to the six o'clock close. It is also the only area where a short booking really works, because nothing depends on a transfer — three hours over dinner and a walk through the old town is a complete evening.
